"Year One" presents work created during the first year of BAVC's Artist-in-Residence (AiR) program by 2015-2016 participating artists Susie Cagle, Tom Comitta, and Sofia Cordova.
Tonight's reception takes over BAVC's facilities, presenting an expanded and interactive installation of new video pieces and two-dimensional works on paper. A more condensed version of "Year One" will continue to be on view for a month following tonight's opening celebrations.
– About BAVC's AiR program –
Made possible in part through the generosity of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, BAVC's AiR program provides Bay Area artists access to BAVC's state-of-the-art technical facilities and in-house expertise. The breadth of experience, interests, and mediums of our inaugural cohort is also reflective of the diverse constituency of creative individuals BAVC serves.
