Xela is one of the most important cities in Guatemala where the Mayan people have a large influence over the economy and in general, exert control over daily life. So you'd expect to find a lot of Central American, Mayan kinds of crafts, but that's not the case. Although some of the cultural jewelry, exotic masks, ethnic clothes, etc., come from Central America, most of the items are from Thailand, India and other South & Southeastern Asian countries. Nevertheless, most of the items are interesting and will add character to any room.
