Michael Warr is author of The Armageddon of Funk, We Are All The Black Boy, and co-editor of Power Lines: A Decade of Poetry From Chicago’s Guild Complex, all from Tia Chucha Press. Mũthoni Kiarie grew up in Nairobi, Kenya. She earned her MFA from Mills College and is an alumna of the Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation. Her novel The Sacred Ibis was honored by the the Joseph Henry Jackson, James D. Phelan, and Mary Tanenbaum Literary Awards.
Joel Selvin, who has covered pop music for the San Francisco Chronicle since 1970, is the author of eight books on the subject, including an award-winning biography of Ricky Nelson and Summer of Love, his best-selling account of the '60s S.F. scene. His other books include Here Comes the Night: The Dark Soul of Bert Berns and the Dirty Business of Rhythm and Blues, San Francisco: The Musical History Tour, and For the Record 4: Sly & the Family Stone.
Kelli Stanley is a critically-acclaimed, multiple award-winning author of crime fiction (novels and short stories). She makes her home in Dashiell Hammett’s San Francisco, a city she loves to write about. Kelli is best known for the Miranda Corbie series of historical noir novels and short stories set in 1940 San Francisco. CITY OF DRAGONS won the Macavity Award for Best Historical Novel, and was nominated for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, a Shamus Award, a Bruce Alexander Award and an RT Book Reviews Award, was a Mystery Guild selection of the month, and placed on many “best of the year” lists.
