About the readers/performers:

Jeff VanderMeer is the author of the Southern Reach Trilogy, beginning with Annihilation. His other books include Finch, Shriek: An Afterword, and the collection City of Saints and Madmen. He is the co-editor, with Ann VanderMeer, of several anthologies including Steampunk, The Thackery T. Lambshead Cabinet of Curiosities, The Time Traveler's Almanac, The New Weird and The Weird.

Lucy Corin is the author of the story collection 100 Apocalypses and Other Apocalypses. Her previous books include the collection The Entire Predicament and the novel Everyday Psychokillers: A History for Girls. Her stories have appeared in Ploughshares, Tin House, Conjunctions and many other magazines and anthologies.

Marian Szczepanski is the author of Playing St. Barbara, a historical novel set after the coal strike of 1928.

Lisa Evans works with several Bay Area organizations including The California Shakespeare Theater Creative Risk Program, Youth Speaks, and Youth Uprising. Lisa has also performed with several different Bay Area Arts Organizations and has represented the Bay Area in various National Poetry Slams. She is currently an ensemble cast member in Our Hallowed ground: The Love Balm Project, a series of site specific performances based on the testimonies of Bay Area mothers who have lost children to violence.

Anna Seregina is a San Francisco-based stand-up comic and performer. Her style can nearly be defined as vocal and un-lady-like, drawing heavily on what little life experience she has. She has been described as having the “worst aura.” She has recently performed in the 2012 SF Sketchfest, the Bruise Cruise Festival, and SXSW.

About Writers With Drinks:

Writers With Drinks won "Best Literary Night" from the SF Bay Guardian readers' poll six years in a row and was named "Best Literary Drinking" and "Best Literary Hour" by the SF Weekly. And it was namechecked in one of Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City novels. The spoken word "variety show" mixes genres to raise money for local causes. The award-winning show includes poetry, stand-up comedy, science fiction, fantasy, romance, mystery, literary fiction, erotica, memoir, zines and blogs in a freewheeling format.
