HEARTLAND is a multimedia dance performance integrating original Butoh choreography by Ledoh with an original score and set imagery developed in partnership with San Francisco’s Salt Farm. HEARTLAND explores the theme of our bodies’ and hearts’ sense of “coming home.” As the culmination of a work cycle that began with COLORMEAMERICA (2008) and continued with SUICIDE BARRIER (2011), HEARTLAND brings this exploration to ground level in its examination of human interaction with the natural environment.
