Description

Two untamed spoken word performers, both solo and with music. A classical duet. Wild textured sound and keyboard improv. Gorgeous new jazz. And walls lined with supercool figurative and text art. Sound like an evening for you? Read on.

We’ve concocted a show to highlight the performance and visual art of poets and spoken artists Tom Stolmar and Richard Loranger, who’ve been spinning heads in the Bay Area and beyond for over twenty years. Joining them will be a stunning range of music, including classical pieces by Eisaku Tokuyama (violin) and Steve Arntson (piano), the studied sound improv of Michael S. Johnson, and brand spankin’ new jazz sextet One Ton Sun, featuring members of Closer to Carbon, Los Cenzontles, Condorosa, Cyclub, and Conspiracy of Beards.

Please join us for an evening of truly eclectic and inspired music, word, and art at The Lost Door, and get yourself lost. At least one piece may take place outside, weather permitting, so dress appropriately.
