For the past 5 years, Emily Thomas, SCMB owner and brewer, has hosted a Women's Brew Day to provide hand's on access and education to women wanting to learn more about home brewing.
Strong Women Brew Strong Beer - Women's Brew Day is an opportunity for women to learn and share knowledge about beer and homebrewing under the guidance of professional female brewers and brewery workers. If you're a beer-loving lady and have ever wondered how brewers combine grain, hops, yeast and water to make delicious beer, or want your burning beer questions answered by female professionals in the industry, this class is for you!
SCMB staff will lead attendees though a hands-on homebrewing session while we brew a 5 gallon batch of beer using a combination of grain and malt extract. Meanwhile, SCMB Brewer Maggie Thomas will be brewing on site, demonstrating how SCMB uses its 7bbl system to brew delicious, organic beer. Finally, trained staff members will discuss recipe development, while leading guests though a tour of the brewery and complimentary beer tasting.
