Camouflaged by foggy skies, sandy winds and frigid waters, the Outer Sunset District of San Francisco has shown tremendous patience for my art and me. My 15-year love/hate relationship with photography has kept me cross-eyed to the clandestine beauty that is my own backyard. Now, as the dust in my life settles, I’m thrilled and a bit peeved to realize that what drives my passion for photography has been in front of me all of this time. The still calm within my images is the subtle reflection of a beach dwellers state of mind and evidence of life out here on the edge of the earth. I capture the essence of West San Francisco to remind locals what they already have and show outsiders what they are missing.

Daniel graduated from the Academy of Art University in 2004. He lives in the Outer Sunset and has devoted himself to the art of photography. He experiments with various film and digital cameras to feed his appetite for creativity and inspiration. Pairing with the Great Highway Gallery has been a key factor in his motivation to create a body of work essential to the history of the Western Neighborhoods of San Francisco.
