"Mr. Marin Marais surprised musical connoisseurs with his pieces ‘La Gamme’, which is (sic) a pièce de symphonie that imperceptibly ascends the steps of the octave; one then descends, thereby going through harmonious songs and melodious tones, the various sounds of music."

MUSA is a chamber ensemble dedicated to historically informed performances of Baroque and Classical repertoire, as well as new music for period instruments. From trio sonatas to orchestral works, MUSA has presented programs on numerous concert series across the Bay Area.
?The 2016-2017 season includes programs on Old First Concerts, Arts at St. Bede's, Noontime Concerts at Old St. Mary's Cathedral, and Wednesday Noon Concerts at Throckmorton Theatre.
MUSA is a fiscal affiliate of the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music.
