Wagner's Opera 'The Flying Dutchman' Sails into the Bankhead Sept. 24

The ghost ship of the Dutchman will haunt the stage of the Bankhead Theater when it opens Livermore Valley Opera's 25th Silver Jubilee season on September 24. The Tri-Valley's own professional opera company will present one of Wagner's most dramatic operas with a cast of the Bay Area's most talented singers.The well-known tale is of a ghost ship sailing the seas for all eternity with its cursed crew. The Dutchman can only set foot on land every seven years to search for a bride who can end the curse and bring him peace. Opening Night Gala at Uncle's Yu's at the Vineyards 4pm. $90 ticket includes dinner then dessert reception in the Bankhead Theater. Pre-opera talk one hour prior to curtain.
