Description
Bay Area favorite return to North Beach to bring their latin dub funk to Mojito for 2 big nights

Sunset proudly brings you two solid nights with the Bay Area’s beloved Funk heroes Vinyl. The dynamic music of Vinyl blends old-school funk, Latin percussion, reggae and R&B into signature instrumental grooves. Vinyl's live shows are notoriously high-energy dance parties that unite fans of various musical styles. They truly carry on the tradition of fellow S.F. funkateers Tower of Power, spiking saucy sax and trumpet with boogaloo bass lines and Latin-laced percussion, all bound by the members' unwavering devotion to leaving dance floor bumping. Their long history has resulted in a cohesive and adventurous sound that offers tasteful improvisation combined with a fortified, rhythmic backbone. Vinyl has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the likes of Les Claypool, Bernie Worrell and has even teamed up with Phil Lesh, performing as his band in 2001. They received the 1999 “Wammie" award for Best International Band from SF Weekly and were voted one of the top 25 bands in the country by a jambands.com nationwide poll. This two-night run is sure to draw those attracted to high-potency funk and sweaty good times, which are what the reigning kings of Bay Area groove, are all about.
