The Philippines are still in need of a lot of help from the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan. Alex Pansoy (Mary Axe, Avtte) has assembled an intimate acoustic show at Orchard Valley Coffee in to help out. It's free to attend, but donations are encouraged and will be given to the Philippines Red Cross. Pansoy will be performing songs from both his former power-pop band Mary Axe and current sludge-metal group Avtte (and a few solo tunes.). Also performing are Nehal Abuelata from local world-beat soul group Sweet HayaH and Mike Huguenor from post-punk groups Shinobu and Hard Girls. Ryan Dishen, San Luis Obispo singer-songwriter, will also play. (Aaron Carnes)
