Trixie Whitley

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Trixie Whitley first came to the attention of world-wide audiences in 2011 as lead vocalist of Black Dub, a conception of super-producer Daniel Lanois (U2, Bob Dylan). Whitley released her first solo album, Fourth Corner, in late 2013: an emotional, blues-drenched outpouring of human emotion ranging from utter love to total rage, unadulterated happiness to crippling loneliness. Fourth Corner received rave review from publications such as Paste Magazine, who credit the album as “fascinating and immersive, a perfect setting for her pipes.” In 2014 Trixie toured internationally in support of Fourth Corner, with festival performances in Canada (Montreal International Jazz Festival), the Netherlands and Belgium. With performances both solo and alongside Black Dub, and buzz-building performances at festivals like Bonnaroo, SXSW, and Celebrate Brooklyn, Whitley has become one of the most talked about new artists of the international music scene.

Trixie Whitley’s Porta Bohemica, the follow up to Fourth Corner will be released on February 5th, 2016.
