Tommy Odetto picked up the guitar at 13 and was immediately obsessed. His inspiration came from the likes of Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix, to name a few. A fifth-generation native of Fairfax, CA – an area known for a diverse and rich music scene – teenage Odetto was known for sneaking into clubs to watch his favorite musicians.
Odetto was a semi-finalist in the King of the Blues contest, making it to the top 25 out of 4,000 competitors in the country. Although very busy with his band Soul Pie, Odetto is often known to sit in with other musicians and is welcomed onstage. Soul Pie is gaining a wide following in the Bay Area and beyond with its distinct funk/rock/blues sound, and has recently released their first album.
