Life has been a roller coaster for Tom Swoon ever since he first started making bootlegs in his bedroom in 2011. His first proper taste of fame came after one of his bootlegs topped over 15 million views on YouTube and instantly became one of the most successful bootlegs ever produced to date.
Following this success, at the end of 2011, he started getting tapped for remixes — his first official release was a reworking of Gareth Emery’s single “Tokyo”. The track immediately climbed into Beatport’s Top 100 chart. He followed up with two other successful remixes for Steve Aoki and Kaskade, two of the pillars of modern electronic dance music — giving him much deserved credibility in the scene. It didn’t just stop there — the phone kept ringing and ringing. Being called on by a who’s who of EDM and pop artist alike — Nervo, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Paul Oakenfold, Benny Benassi, Sultan & Ned Shepard, Flo Rida, Dido, Jennifer Lopez, Ellie Goulding, Linkin Park and more have all wanted a piece of his fresh new sound and his big room approach.
And if his success as remixer weren’t enough, several of his own original tracks over the past few years have had incredible success with international music fans and DJ’s alike. From the Beatport charting “Not Too Late” to his collaboration with Paris Blohm and Hadouken, “Synchronize”, Tom has had support from David Guetta, Avicii, Arty, Thomas Gold, Steve Angello, Martin Garrix, Dyro, W&W, Dubvision, Max Vangeli, MYNC, Deniz Koyu and many others leading him to be mentioned in both MixMag and Billboard magazine as their ‘Artist to Watch’ for 2013.
2014 has already started out stratospheric so far for Tom Swoon with more shows, a growing fan base. He has more releases and even more big name collaborations in the works. His achievements of the past few years show that this is an artist that is definitely worth watching.
