| Description Andrea Schwartz Gallery is pleased to announce a two-person exhibition featuring new work by Tina Vietmeier and Catherine Dudley. Opening Reception: Wednesday, June 11, 2008, 5:30 - 7:30 PM
A new series of landscapes by Bay Area artist Tina Vietmeier was influenced by her developing interest in Global Warming, particularly the rapid deterioration of the North and South Poles caused by human endeavor. Vietmeier creates a visual dialogue that making connections between our daily lives and what is happening to these natural habitats. Known for her use of encaustic, Vietmeier carefully crafts an ethereal milky cosmos of wax and imagery. The gallery is also featuring the work of emerging artist Catherine Dudley.Dudley’s background is in printmaking, evident though her use of screen prints combined with found papers in her mixed media collages. Her chosen imagery features natural elements like plant-based forms forms juxtaposed with linear and man-made shapes. |
