TransDerm, a Santa Cruz-based biotech firm, is researching a treatment for Pachyonychia Congenita (PC), an ultra-rare and debilitating skin disease that causes painful, thick skin and blisters, mainly on the hands and feet. The THICKSKIN Duathlon is to raise awareness and support for patients suffering from PC.
All donations and registration fees up to $10,000 will be matched $12-to-$1
There will also a bike-only event, kids face painting and art projects, live music and raffle prizes at 2161 Delaware Avenue in Santa Cruz.
