New Years Eve Guide
Music, mayhem and...merchandise are the themes this week. Wednesday night kick it at the Pre-Not So Silent Night Party at Mezzanine featuring Vampire Weekend, Cold War Kids, Chairlift, and Audrey Sessions. Then sex it up Brazilian-style with CSS at Bimbo's 365 Club. This Friday night, bring your shopping bag as you go get drinks in the Mission. Dozens of businesses including shops, bars, restaurants and cafes with be offering special discounts and treats at the Mission Holiday Block Party. The next day, you can continue the festivities and engage in Santa mayhem at Santa Anarchy at Fisherman's Wharf. And this Saturday help hunt down the Grinch at Tonal, an exciting underground party, location TBA. Then start celebrating Winter Solstice at The Christmas Revels at the Scottish Rite Center; with folk rituals, songs and dances, it's a great family event.

Every December for the last 15 years, Cacophonous Santas have been visiting cities around the world, engaging in a bit of Santarchy as part of the annual Santacon events. It all started back in 1994 when several dozen Cheap Suit Santas paid a visit to downtown San Francisco for a night of Kringle Kaos. Things have reached Critical Xmas and Santarchy is now a global phenomenon. You'd better watch out! Santa's coming to town!
