There's a chill to the air and the ice skating rinks at Union Square and The Embarcadero are adding to the cool factor, but San Francisco is filled with the warm sounds of Africa this week as the Tony-award winning production of Fela! makes its debut at Curran Theatre. The revolutionary band leader-not without his flaws-helped shape modern music and you can hear it in the sounds of Lagos Root Afrobeat, the Budos Band and Black Star, all of which make stops in SF this week. For those more focused on the upcoming holidays, San Francisco's restaurants are ready for Thanksgiving Service and Cary Lane's three-year anniversary provides an early option for deals, plus free food and drinks. The Hip Hop Dance Fest is perfect for those who prefer to spectate, instead of participate on the dance floor, and the BevMo! Holiday Beer Fest has plenty of hops of its own.
