Amidst all the breakdowns this past week - Serena Williams losing it on the court, Kanye West losing his wits on stage at the VMAs, and Congressman Joe Wilson losing his mind on Capitol Hill - it's important to keep your cool. No matter how angry and frazzled you get, keep it Zen this week. Here are our picks to help you keep calm amidst life's chaos. Art has a way of putting things into perspective...APAture 2009, showcasing emerging Asian Pacific American artists, kicks off 10 days of amazing performances and art. Music can also soothe your soul and Citizen Cope definitely has the chops to do so; he plays Friday night at The Fillmore. If opera is more to your taste, take in Verdi's "Il Trovatore" like you have never done before at Opera at the Ballpark. And definitely no Lady Gaga, the UK's Little Boots will be taking her electro-pop sensations to The Independent on Saturday night. You could also bond with your friends and explore the city in the GO Urban Adventure Race, this is one scavenger hunt you won't forget! What? It is fall already? The always popular Autumn Moon Festival Street Fair takes over Chinatown this weekend with "over 200 art and crafts booths, food concessions, and nonstop street and stage entertainment." They say laughter is the best medicine. While it can be argued that the invention of penicillin is, indeed, the best medicine - a good laugh definitely goes a long way. Get your laugh on at Comedy Day at Sharon Meadow. And keep that smile on your face!
