This weekend is the Fourth of July so what better time to celebrate your independence and take part in all that the city has to offer this three-day holiday. For a little musical preamble, turn to Sondre Lerche who's playing at the GAMH tonight. For a more serious turn, look no further than writer Charles Bowden's talk on The War Next Door exploring the U.S./Mexican drug war. Thursday is the much-anticipated Best of the Bay Area Party 2011 toasting the best people, places, and things in the Bay Area. On Saturday, the BreastFest Beer Festival, benefiting the Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic, will be hosting 60 micro-breweries, 4 Cider Companies and 3 Wineries. Now, there's only so much BBQ and potato salad one can eat, so dance off that meal at Stompy + Sunset Independance at Café Cocomo. On Monday, savor your day off and then enjoy the various fireworks displays around the bay including the spectacular 4th of July Fireworks Show with the San Francisco Symphony at Shoreline Amphitheatre.
