You're not likely to see Hologram Tupac, but Fauxchella continues this week with bands like Explosions in the Sky, Fitz and the Tantrums, M83 and Gotye making appearances in the Bay Area before the second weekend of Coachella. San Francisco also has something to look forward to with the just-announced lineup for the 2012 Outside Lands Music Festival, featuring Metallica, Neil Young, Beck, Justice, Skrillex and many more. The 4/20 holiday arrives with a new generation of blunted rappers, Wiz Khalifa and A$AP Rocky, and Record Story Day provides the perfect excuse spend a few dollars at your favorite local purveyor of vinyl. The 12th Annual Cesar E. Chavez Holiday Parade & Festival celebrates 50 years of the farm worker movement and an Earth Day Party and is planned for Civic Center.

At Twentieth and Dolores, refugees were assembling in the park, only recently mixed with Horse manure in anticipation of planting a lawn. The fire came closer. Word passed quickly through the crowd that there was no water to fight it... The magic hydrant at Twentieth and Church was painted gold and returned to service, where it remains. Each April 18, it receives a fresh coat of golden paint...

Two Dancers inhabits its own landscape, as Tom Fleming says, it's "a series of scenes... a big party, the street outside later on, or in a bedroom, or desperately hungry and starving to death on a distant beach." The words "bedroom", "desperately" and "party" perfectly capture...
