Have you ever wondered what a lone wolf goes through during their trek to find a new home?
Join the California Wolf Center and Jay Simpson, expedition team member, for a premier screening of 'The Wolf OR-7 Expedition' to experience just that! Follow six adventurers as they retrace by bicycle and on foot, the approximate route taken by the GPS-collared wolf OR-7. The wolf was born in Northeastern Oregon and in 2011 left his pack to disperse south and find new territory. He became the first known wolf in California in 90 years! Meet the people along Wolf OR-7’s route who are learning to adapt to the return of wolves.
You will also have the opportunity to hear from Karin Vardaman, California Wolf Center's Director of California Wolf Recovery, on our unprecedented efforts to recover wild wolves in the Golden State - efforts that focus on solutions, instead of conflict that often pervades wolf recovery elsewhere. OR-7's journey into our state was just the beginning!
Light refreshments will be available. All ticket sales support the recovery of this iconic predator to our state and creating a culture of coexistence in California.
