Celebrate the wintry holiday season with Windham Hill artists in the warm intimacy of Kuumbwa Jazz Center. Led by fiddler/pianist/vocalist Barbara Higbie, whom writer Derk Richardson described as “a jazz pianist who can write and sing like Laura Nyro and Carol King…†Higbie’s musical associates have included Bonnie Raitt, Bobby McFerrin, and Carlos Santana, and she leads the ensemble with Grammy-nominated pianist Liz Story; Grammy-nominee, acoustic guitarist Will Ackerman; acoustic guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Todd Boston, who expands the group's sonic palette with his inventive use of wood flutes and exotic percussion; and cellist Lewis Patzner (from the trio Judgement Day). “It's a show made for people who want to celebrate the season in their own unique way,†Higbie says.
