The Original Light Blazing Through Your Skull

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Saint Ignatius Church (see times)
Ali Naschke-Messing will be leading a walking meditation here at St. Ignatius Church. We will walk up several flights of stairs so please be prepared. Participants will rest at their destination and be taught simple techniques to awaken awareness of body and place. The session starts promptly at 4pm and runs for 30 minutes followed by a discussion. Naschke-Messing's installation extends the gold leafed dome, inverting the emanating source of light. The floating gold leaf fragments can be seen as coming from above and below, constantly turning and responding to air currents via breath and movement – a very tranquil place for reflection.

Each month the artist leads meditations - both walking and sitting - of different durations. Some days will be "sits" inside this site-responsive installation; other days will be walks through St. Ignatius Church in the under-seen parts of the church. Participants will be taught simple techniques to awaken awareness of body and place.
** Please meet in Manresa Gallery inside St. Ignatius Church. This sitting starts promptly at 4:00pm so arrive early. The duration is 30mins followed by conversation. Please wear loose and comfortable clothes.
