The Long And The Short of It
A Goforaloop Gallery & Studios Film Series
On Thursday July 25, 2013 at 7:00pm Goforaloop Gallery & Studios is offering you an exciting opportunity to be part of building a community and network of filmmakers and cinephiles. We will view short films of local filmmakers, alongside the early works of today’s top directors. The Long And The Short of It is a monthly film series showcasing a variety of feature and short films, in an atmosphere dedicated to fostering connections between filmmakers.
This month will feature Quentin Tarantino’s first feature film, Reservoir Dogs. Released in 1992, Reservoir Dogs appeared at the Sundance Film Festival by the first-time writer-director. The film was critically acclaimed and Tarantino became a legend immediately.
Also being featured this month are the short films of four local filmmakers of the Bay Area. James Huston: The Dreaded Cat Monster, Andrew Prewett: Frozen Gun, Orlando Mendoza: Bucket of Chicken, and Chad M. Davis: Ephemeralization. These short films all include styles and themes found in Reservoir Dogs including satirical subject matter and violence.
Future events will feature films by directors such as David Lynch, Joel and Ethan Coen, and more.
