The Foundation is dedicated to bringing the spirit and sound of good music back, back to it's roots. Music was built on soul, positive vibes, good energy, love and sincerity. These are the principles we're building our musical foundation on. You won't hear the latest top 40 songs nor will you hear the radio hits you love to hate but instead you will hear music with soul and purpose. Music that makes you feel good and music that moves you. Don't interpret what were saying as an "old school" party cause that's not the direction we're taking. The music we play will be music for all to enjoy. From hip hop, soul, R&B, reggae, dancehall, classic breaks, soulful house, disco, funk and everything in between with an emphasis on good music. The musical spectrum will be tested and pushed to it's limits. We ask that you have an open mind and heart to accept change. The resident DJs for The Foundation are musical legends. Their knowledge of music transcends that of your regular club DJ...true masters at their craft, they will move you. Not only is this inaugural event for The Foundation but it's also the grand opening weekend of SOM. The new "go to" venue located in the heart of the Mission District. In Portuguese, SOM means not only 'sound', but also the feeling that resonates within a person when they connect with an experience.
