The Arcs’ new album, ‘Yours, Dreamily,’ has received critical praise, with NPR Music saying, “Right from the drop, ‘Yours, Dreamily,’ ignites like a cigarette flicked on a stream of gasoline,” while Entertainment Weekly praises, “(The album) lands right in the meaty part of the psychedelic curve with jolts of lush hypno-soul and tough garage-edelia.” The album’s first single, “Outta My Mind,” also has received excellent reviews, with New York magazine’s Vulture praising its “raw, bare-bones appeal” and Spin noting its “barrage of deliciously reverbed, strung-out riffs.” Additionally, The Huffington Post recently premiered the track’s official music video, calling it, “a dreamy gift of garage blues wrapped in fuzzy, soulful guitar.”
The Arcs are Dan Auerbach, Leon Michels, Richard Swift, Homer Steinweiss, and Nick Movshon. Also featured on the album are Kenny Vaughan and Mariachi Flor de Toloache. The group collaboratively wrote and recorded 13 tracks for ‘Yours, Dreamily,’ with the musicians playing a large array of roles both vocally and instrumentally. Co-produced by Auerbach and Michels, the album was recorded in roughly two weeks through spontaneous, informal sessions across the country at the Sound Factory in Los Angeles, the Diamond Mine in Queens, Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound in Nashville, and in a lounge room at Electric Lady in Manhattan. Tchad Blake mixed the album on his horse farm in Wales.
