The African-American Shakespeare Company begins a new chapter in its 22 year history when it stages Cinderella at The Herbst Theatre in SF.
This year's Cinderella stresses resilience, the kind that comes from knowing that one way we make our own dreams come true is by having the power to change what we know is wrong.
Though she doesn't have her own say in things at the beginning, because she believes what other people say about her, she turns it all around with help from a Fairy Godmother who puts "the F in fabulous."
With the addition of new musical numbers, expanded production numbers and new harmonies and more dance, this is the boldest Cinderella yet from the company.
