There are a lot of delightful surprises with the Monterey Bay Gala, but one thing you can always expect is a party that will blow you away. Maybe it’s the setting that will amaze you. Tehama Golf Club sits high in the Carmel Valley, looking out over rolling hills and an immaculate course. It could also be the decor—show girls, replica Golden Gate Bridges or saddles—depending on that year’s theme. You can easily find yourself awestruck with the high-caliber star power in attendance. And you will definitely be entertained by the world renowned performers who generously donate their time and talents. Whatever it is, you will leave feeling as though you have not only experienced something truly memorable, but that you have brought hope and joy to children who have faced far too many hardships in their short lives.
On top of all that, you can expect to find a selection of silent and live auction items that are nearly impossible to acquire elsewhere. Last year alone, guests could bid on being a guest racer on the Oracle Team USA America’s cup boat, a Kentucky Derby experience, tickets to the finale of Dancing With The Stars, autographed Clint Eastwood memorabilia and a Montana Group Getaway, for instance. Capping off the evening is a live, close-up and intimate performance by one of today’s top entertainers, such as Tony Bennett, Brad Paisley or Jonathan Cain and Ross Valory from Journey.
It’s the hottest ticket on the Monterey Peninsula and it always sells out. If you only go to one fundraiser this year, make it the Monterey Bay Gala. This year’s theme is “Passport to Wishes” so be sure you’re cleared to travel! All proceeds support Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area, which grants wishes to children battling life-threatening medical conditions throughout the Monterey Peninsula and beyond.
