Created by renowned composer and tango director Osvaldo Requena, Tango Buenos Aires was immediately met with tremendous success and added to the season of the General San Martin Municipal Theatre.
Since 1986, the company has traveled extensively throughout the United States and has performed in dozens of cities and at festivals around the world including China, Brazil, Mexico, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Scandinavia, Bangkok and Malaysia.
In 2005, Julian Vat, Argentina’s most prolific composer and leading musician assumed the title of music director. Due to the extraordinary success of their 2003 U.S. tour, the Company returned in 2007 and again in 2011. Tango Buenos Aires’ 2015 touring schedule includes a two and half month Coast to Coast tour of the United States and Canada.
