SACHI—the Society for Art and Heritage of India—launches its young professional program with this concert by the first and only female professional tabla player in the world. Anuradha Pal has been internationally acclaimed as an accomplished soloist and a versatile and sought after accompanist. A disciple of the world-renowned tabla maestros, the late Ustad Alla Rakha and Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pal has performed extensively around the world.

Virtuoso Anuradha Pal will not only highlight the Tabla's incredible rhythms and melodic beauty, but also underscore its aesthetic and emotional appeal and universal connection. An interaction between the young percussionist and the two heads of the Tabla through a language where words merge into sounds and images, is the essence of her new composition, Talking Heads.

Anuradha was featured on BBC, ITV (USA) and Australian TV. She has performed in the Greenwich International and Bath International festivals in England, and BBC Radio ranked her as one of the 'Five Top Women Musicians of India'.

This event is jointly co-sponsored by SACHI (Society for Art and Cultural Heritage of India) and the Asian Art Museum.
