About Taiki Nulight
Taiki Nulight, or ‘Erka Chinbayer’ to his friends, has been DJing and Producing for many years in very different circles. Being influenced by UK Garage, House and Electronic Dance Music, he has created a trademark sound which is truly his own.
2014 was big year for Taiki seeing the anthem ‘Level’ (his collab with My Nu Leng) release on London powerhouse Black Butter Records to great acclaim across the board. Not stopping there, his record with Herve , IAEATD (It Aint Even About the Dough), released on Cheap Thrills, was nominated for ‘best deep bass single’ at the Bass Music Awards.
On the touring front, 2014 was a year that saw Taiki make his debut at Shambala Festival in Canada, Headline AC Slater now iconic ‘Nightbass’ club night in Los Angeles and embark on his debut Australian tour along side Chris Lorenzo, Cause & Affect and Jack Beats . He closed out the year playing to a sold out house on NYE at Brixton Academy in London, UK.
Over the last 12 months Taiki has been busy on the remix front as well with a wealth of reworks that have been heavily supported at club and specialist radio. Official remixes included work on artists such as Keys & Krates for DimMak, Chris Lorenzo & Hannah Wants for Virgin and Lily Allen for Parlophone
Taiki started 2015 strongly dropping the ‘Higher’ EP on Get Twisted Records with support at Radio 1 from Mistajam and Pete Tong. Already set for release in 2015 are collabs with AC Slater, Jack Beats, Riddim Commission and Sinden as well as a wealth of solo material.
After joining the Dim Mak family this summer with his single “Into Darkness” released on the label’s music-discovery imprint New Noise, Taiki Nulight makes his official Dim Mak debut with his Into Darkness EP. The five-track offering exhibits his prowess in new school UK garage and bass-heavy house music stylings, while still providing a fresh perspective on the genres. The London beatmaker exhibits his no-frills production technique within songs like “Break In” and “Savy,” placing emphasis on dark and minimalist basslines.
