Concept Tours Presents Swedish Mens Chorus Orphei Drängar in Concert as part of their USA tour 2017

This world-class, 80-voice Swedish men’s chorus has been led by Cecilia Rydinger Alin since 2008. Robert Sund, Orphei Drängar’s former director, will return to the States to conduct their 2017 USA concerts. This concert will be their only public concert in Minnesota. Their performance includes choral gems and features Swedish mezzo-soprano Katija Dragojevics.
Since it started in 1853, the choir has been expanding the scope of its activities, its repertoire, its concert forms, and its venues. Tours of Sweden are complemented by far-flung journeys to Asia, the US, Canada, and Europe. Concerts at Royal Albert Hall in London, Lincoln Center in New York, and Symphony Hall in Osaka, alternate with performances in stone quarries and paper mills. Leading artists in Sweden jostle with internationally acclaimed stars like Malena Ernman, Peter Mattei, and Anne Sofie von Otter.
