Join Chinatown Branch Library's monthly World Literature Book Club for a stimulating discussion of Svetlana Alexievich's Voices from Chernobyl: The Oral History of a Nuclear Disaster. Alexievich, who won the 2015 Nobel Prize for Literature, here chronicles the aftermath of the world's worst nuclear disaster, weaving a dark, unforgettable narrative out of the hundreds of interviews she conducted with survivors.
Our group meets the first Thursday of each month, 6:30-8:30 pm, in the Chinatown Branch Library (1135 Powell St.). All Library events are free and open to the public. New members are always welcome!
Here are the Book Club Selections for the first half of 2016:
March 3: Voices from Chernobyl by Svetlana Alexievich
April 7: The Golden Gate by Vikram Seth
May 5: Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan
June 2: Nightwood by Djuna Barnes
