Pokemon fans old and new await the Oct. 12 release of games X and Y on Nintendo's 3DS. Local band Super Soul Bros. celebrate the occasion at Cafe Stritch alongside local chiptune producer Petriform, game-themed parody singer Lady Game Lyric, and anime DJ Coco (who usually sports a Pikachu suit during her sets). Super Soul Bros. charm their fans with their jazzy interpretation of classic video game tunes (Zelda, Mario Bros, Pokemon, Sonic and EarthBound). They've progressed from performing in Iguanas' tiny storefront to San Pedro Square's outdoor patio. This show, however, puts them on a bill of like-minded video game-themed musicians. This is a video game nerd's dream show. (Amulya Datla)
