Sumo: a graphic novel

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Chinatown / Him Mark Lai Branch of the San Francisco Public Library (see times)
Please join author Thien Pham, the acclaimed illustrator of Gene Yang’s Level Up, as he talks about and discusses his graphic novel Sumo. His new book follows Scott, a washed-up football player who abandons his old life, his old name, and even his old hair color, and becomes an aspiring sumo wrestler. Pham’s graphic novel is highly poetic and structured to echo the slow build and sudden clash of a sumo match.

A book sale and signing will follow the program. This author event will be in English only.
