LEFT COAST COUNTRY (Portland, OR)
Constantly evolving with a true dedication to their craft has made Left Coast Country one of the hardest working, up and coming acts in the Pacific Northwest. Left Coast Country’s music is a fusion of traditional and progressive bluegrass; composed of fiery heartfelt foot stompers, rolling country ballads, and powerful instrumental soundscapes. Their stage performance showcases the group’s synchronous harmonies, beautiful melodies, and intense intricate instrumentation.

MIKE HELLMAN (Bay Area)
Mike Hellman is a country music singer-songwriter based in Northern California. A native Texan, he draws on his home state's best country traditions while delivering heartfelt songs with substance and originality.

July 16
"Country Honky-Tonk Night"
With Leo Rondeau + Slow Motion Cowboys

Tix: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/summer-hillbilly-music-series-leo-rondeau-slow-motion-cowboys-tickets-26065675136

LEO RONDEAU (Austin, TX)
Leo Rondeau deals in stories candid and honest and plainspoken and is heavily influenced by the dolorous and at times bleak illustrations of Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers and Townes Van Zandt. Based in Austin, Texas, his own story finds root in the Turtle Mountains of North Dakota where Rondeau grew up surrounded by country music listeners and pickers spanning three generations. A child of the rural American west and owning family lineage within the Turtle Mountain band of the Chippewa Indian tribe, his own history and worldview are engrained in the lines of his songs.

SLOW MOTION COWBOYS (Bay Area)
Lead by San Francisco's Pete Frauenfelder (Trainwreck Riders) Slow Motion Cowboys have been combing the country collecting songs and collaborators to conceive their own brand of Country Americana since 2002. On their first full length album "Buzzard Songs" the (cow)boys recount the tales of the road with a cool and easy feeling, heavy on the harmonies and hawaiian guitar. Playing in the country punk outfit Trainwreck Riders over the last 10 years, Pete cut his teeth on the DIY circuit, playing house shows and bars from coast to coast. But where Trainwreck Riders throws down the intensity, SMC pushes the soul. With a stripped down approach to folk music, the tunes of SMC resonate with honesty and heartbreak under the framework of traditional country arrangements.

ROBIN DAVIS DUO (Durango, CO)
Flat-pickin' extraordinaire, Robin Davis, blends a unique guitar style with traditional acoustic sound...s. He spent his entire upbringing with bluegrass on the brain. With a father as a banjo player, Davis formed his music ideology with the familiar bluegrass instruments we all know well. What started as a five-year old playing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" on the fiddle soon became a musician garnering influences from Clarence White, Tony Rice, and Buckethead (the man can shred electric just as well as his pre-war acoustic SUPERTONE). Davis shared most of his music with the SW mountain town of Durango, CO, less than 60 miles from his family ranch in Pagosa Springs. In Durango, he was lucky enough to find a little lady. Jimi Giles, who plays stand-up bass in the Robin Davis Duo, learned guitar from her deadhead father at the age of ten...but it wasn't until she met Davis did she start pickin' the stand-up bass. Together the Robin Davis Duo molds fanciful guitar playing, a solid bass, and vocal harmonies galore in traditional and original tunes. These two will create more sound than you thought possible...

MISISIPI MIKE & THE MIDNIGHT GAMBLERS (SF)
Mike will never admit this, but he's the hardest workin' man on the local music scene and a local hero who's kept country music alive in San Francisco for over 20 years. Come to dance, drink, and be impressed.
