About Spark
Spark is a national nonprofit that provides life-changing apprenticeships to underserved 7th and 8th graders to re-engage them in their education. Spark has provided transformational mentoring experiences to over 700 Bay Area 7th and 8th graders since the first programs launched in 2005. Spark apprenticeships expose students to a wide spectrum of careers, inspire them to stay in school, and equip them with the skills needed to succeed in life. Spark students are graduating at a significantly higher rate – 92% nationally compared to 76% here in the Bay Area, and sometimes as low as 60% in the neighborhoods we serve.
