STUDY NOTES - A Concert for College

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at First Unitarian Universalist Society of San Francisco (see times)
Simone Moore, Mezzo-Soprano, is a recent Classical Voice graduate from the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts Vocal Music Department, directed by Kristen Grzeca.

Born and bred in San Francisco, of Native American and African American descent, Simone served as student conductor for the department–a position for which she was selected by Ms. Grzeca, and also volunteered weekly as a section leader for the Youth Choir at St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church, helping teach basic levels of music theory and ensemble. These experiences contributed to her ongoing training as an aspiring professional artist, as well as heightening her sense of personal accomplishment at being able to help her peers enhance their musicianship. With the youth choir, the regular challenge of keeping the students focused and motivated, though strenuous at times, helped to promote confidence in both the students and herself.

A passionate Opera enthusiast, Simone is equally interested and curious about the pathways of the brain. Her artistic and academic talents brought her to the attention of the the Posse Foundation, who have awarded her a 4-year, full tuition, merit and leadership scholarship to attend the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington.

This concert is Simone's personal thank you gift to all who have and continue to support her. All contributions will help her raise the additional funds needed to pursue her dream of higher education.

STUDY NOTES is being presented with the support of Ann Oglanian, a local patron of the arts, who believes in the benefits of arts in the public schools and in the power and potential of young artists.
