Referring to Storm Large as a vocalist is undercutting her complete range of talents as an artist (which includes, but is not limited to: actor, playwright, author and musician). One of the lead singers for the Portland-based mini pop orchestra Pink Martini and a collaborator with the Oregon Symphony, she recently received rave reviews for her performance of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s Seven Deadly Sins at Carnegie Hall. This fall, Storm & Le Bonheur is releasing a record designed to capture their sublime and subversive interpretations of the American Songbook. Entitled simply, Le Bonheur, the recording is a collection of tortured and titillating love songs; beautiful, familiar, yet twisted...much like the lady herself.
