The San Francisco party institution, Stompy, celebrate their 20 Year anniversary with their anniversary party at Monarch.
What began in 1992 as a small party started by founder Preston Lytton, attending a ‘Stompy Party’ has become a rite of passage for any dance music aficionado that makes it to SF. The constant quest to keep the event as exciting and memorable as the last one has produced many incarnations including Boogie Buffet, Stompy Dig-in, Toon Town, Hi-Fi, Nitty-Gritty, and Stompy + Sunset.
Their ‘music forward’ approach has brought in exceptional talent from every corner of the world, often times long before their rise to superstardom. A small sample of the talent that has graced the Stompy decks include Kerri Chandler, DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter, Claude Von Stroke & Justin Martin, Louie Vega, Gemini, Chez Damier, Mark Farina, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Pepe Bradock, Luke Solomon, Charles Webster, Rick Wade, Jimpster, Jacob London, Bugz in the Attic, Tom Middleton, Kevin Yost, Robag Wruhme, Catz ‘N Dogz, Alexander Robotnick, Beg to Differ, Chris Duckenfield, and hundreds of others.
As we ring in our 20th anniversary this year, we decided its very appropriate that we celebrate with all of you that have danced, laughed, screamed, partied, grooved, helped, contributed, played, promoted, and supported us. After our two large events in LA (5/26) and with Sunset at Cocomo (5/27), we're giving you a week's rest and inviting you down to an intimate affair at Monarch on June 1st, 2012. Making a rare SF appearance, we've invited international House legend IAN POOLEY to highlight the music ceremony.
It's been an amazing 20 years and here's to raising the tequila shot to 20 more.
