Growing up in Southern California in the 60’s and 70’s with a highly dysfunction family might be memories one would want to forget. Not for Kearin. He has taken his family story and has turned it into a one-man show that takes the audience on an unforgettable ride through the highs and lows. With tales of his tough loving, chain smoking mom, his hard working war veteran father, two tenacious older sisters, and every family member in between (including a step-mother who was previously his aunt), Kearin dives deep into his family history to give a hilarious and emotional story as he introduces the world to “his people.”

A portion of the night’s proceeds will go to support the documentary, "Surviving Skokie," an independent film by Eli Adler and Blair Gershkow that speaks out against bigotry through a heartwarming story of community, transformation and discovery. http://www.survivingskokiemovie.org

STEPHEN KEARIN began his career with Bay Area Theatresports in San Francisco, where he was a company member for 14 years. He was a founding member of Improv Theater and True Fiction Magazine. Kearin is currently a member of the critically-acclaimed improv ensembles, 3 FOR ALL (along with Rafe Chase and Tim Orr) and Impro Theatre in Los Angeles.

Last year, he co-directed Impro Theatre's "Twilight Zone UnScripted" and most recently Impro Theatre's "The Western UnScripted" at the Falcon Theatre. He has appeared in numerous stage productions, including the stilt-walking Iago in San Francisco Opera's "Otello", as Sally-Sue Weber in "A Weber Family Christmas" and he originated the role of Movie Mega-Superstar, Blaine Bustier, in "An Evening With Dirk & Blaine". Kearin is the co-creator of "Simlish" and was the principal male voice of "The Sims", "Sims 2" and "Sims Medieval". He created the Martian languages for Disney's "Mars Needs Moms". He is featured in the DreamWorks Animation films "Kung Fu Panda", "Kung Fu Panda 2", "Madagascar 2 & 3", "Monsters Vs. Aliens", "Megamind" and the "Penguins of Madagascar".

Kearin will appear as the terrifying 'Principal Mitchell' this fall on the new Disney XD television series "Kirby Buckets". He stars in "The Bunglers", winner of Best Comedic Short at The 2012 Manhattan Film Festival. Stephen has been a visiting instructor at Stanford University and Cirque Du Soleil. Stephen currently resides in Pasadena with his wife and fellow improviser, Jo McGinley, but he will always consider San Francisco his home.
