During the California Academy of Sciences' rebuilding project in Golden Gate Park (scheduled to be completed in 2008), the Academy's Steinhart Aquarium is open to the public at 875 Howard Street (between 4th and 5th Streets) in downtown San Francisco. The Steinhart Aquarium on Howard Street includes penguins (fed at 11 and 3:30 every day), a 20,000 gallon two-story coral reef tank filled with colorful corals and dozens of tropical fish, a Touch Tidepoool, fish from around the world, snakes, turtles, frogs, and thousand of other aquarium animals.
