( ( ( HOUSEPITALITY ) ) ) proudly presents an appearance from a Detroit expat who has become one of America's biggest exports on the international stage, a DJ's DJ who made his name on the back of his talent as a DJ specifically:

::ERIC CLOUTIER (bunker ny, tanstaafl, mosaic | Berlin)::

Opening set by

::VICTOR VEGA (Housepitality | San Francisco)::

Groove Lounge:

::MIKE BEE (Vinyl Dreams, Housepitality | SF)::
::JOEL CONWAY (Bubble, Housepitality | SF)::

One of our favorite guests of all time, Eric Cloutier has been actively DJing since 1996, first popping up in the hotbed of talent known as Detroit. It is definitely Detroit and its healthy underground scene that shaped his sound, but upon moving to NYC and joining up with techno powerhouse The Bunker, his sound became deeper than the sum of his experiences; his DJing began to speak for itself.

Most DJs have to produce and release records to become famous and get gigs–though he’s now beginning to release music after a long period of incubation, Eric’s DJ talent is what got him shows worldwide, including one of the hardest to get: a set at Japan’s famed Labyrinth party.

As usual, we await Eric’s set with excitement, and are so happy to have him back in the bay. Join us.

On the opening tip, veteran resident Victor Vega will play the 9-11pm slot (thus allowing folks who need to get to bed a chance to see Eric on the early side). Victor hails from New Jersey but has been in SF long enough to be considered a local. He’s been rocking dance floors, undergrounds, and clubs for many years, and always brings something new and different to his Housepit openings. Join us early, grab some free bubbly, and let’s get down.

In the Groove Lounge, our double-threat residents and purveyors of slower, funky, chugging music Mike Bee and Joel Conway, will take care of business, just like they always do. It’s always a blast when either one of them plays in the back, so to have both is heavenly.

Join us for our 3rd party of the year. Let’s do this.

We got you.

Eric Cloutier

Now making music as considered and carefully crafted as his DJ sets, Eric Cloutier has long been an influential underground selector. Though he recently started releasing his own music, it’s fair to say that Eric Cloutier has established himself as an influential underground figure purely off the back of his DJ sets. Known to be able to tease and control crowds for extended periods of time without resorting to cheap thrills or lowest common denominator kicks, since first emerging in 1996 he has been installed as resident at some of the most knowing venues around the world, and for good reason.

These include local hotspots in his native Detroit, internationally acclaimed clubs in his current hometown of Berlin but also mythologised places like The Bunker in New York. In terms of festivals, only the finest will do, and as such Cloutier is one of the select few who gets invited to play the culturally considered affair that is Japan’s Labyrinth.

“I like to keep it really body-oriented,” says the man of his inimitable DJ style. “I like to focus on hypnotising people in to a deep groove and just locking them in.” House, dub and techno are all fair game for Cloutier, and be they deep and driving tracks or harder hitting selections, every one bridges the gap between the old and the new in seamless and unpredictable ways.

2014 finds the high quality DJ further focussing on making and releasing music. As such and as well as being involved with the forthcoming Bunker label and already established TANSTAFAAL imprint, his first productions and remixes have been snapped up by Studio-R, Freund Der Familie and Steve O'Sullivan’s influential Mosaic. Given that he is such an acclaimed and informed DJ, it’s no wonder Cloutier’s deep, airy and atmospheric music is turning out to be just as essential for those who know.

Victor Vega

Victor Vega, hailing from Jersey City via Northampton, has been part of the dance-music culture for the past 14 years studying media production, promotion, and learning the music. In 2004, Victor moved from Massachusetts to California to further his knowledge of event and music production, promotion, and DJing.
Some of Victor’s early dance influences were genres such as Latin and Acid House, Hip-Hop, R ’n’ B, World Beat music and such unlikely sounds as Classical and Classic Rock. During the last two and one-half years, Vega has honed his craft of sculpting the sounds of Electro, Tech House, keeping it dirty and juicy so that it makes you want to freaky deaky.
In moving to San Francisco and working with the Fringe Art Collective and Janky barge. Victor has enjoyed the honor of playing alongside artists such as The Juan McLain, Freestylers, Bassnectar, BLVD, Glitch Mob, Stanton Warriors, and DJ Icey in venues such as Poleng Lounge, Anu, Mighty, Rain Dance (Santa Cruz), Get Freaky @ 10:15, Burning Man, and Decompression.
