It's summer time, and even if it doesn't warm up in San Francisco you can bet it'll be HOT at Spilt Milk this month with Shawn Reynaldo, Breezy Nix, & K Avalon.
To keep you nice and cool through the evening we're gonna be doing a couple of summery $5 cocktails. We're gonna bring in some ginger beer so we can get you loaded on Bourbon Bucks, and if you're feeling frisky we'll also be furnishing y'all with Fernet and Cokes.
If you live in the Bay Area and like good music you've probably crossed paths with the artist formerly known as Disco Shawn. Maybe you've gotten sweaty to his sets under 222 Hyde, or perhaps you rolled for the first time listening to his jams at Popscene before you were 21. You could be an avid reader of his articles in XLR8R, or maybe you followed his KALX programming with religious fervor. It's possible you heard his voice a decade ago on the venerable Live 105, or you've purchased tunes brought to you by his record labels, Double Negative and Bersa Discos. Whatever your previous experience with Shawn, get ready for it all to come to a climax on June 15th when he drops an hour-long set of, well, whatever he wants to play. And not only have we given him complete creative control, but also top billing. Fancy, huh?
The short and sweet San Francisco summer is one to savor this year as it may be one of the only times you'll be able to catch a blustery live set from Breezy Nix in the Bay. This lady is in town for a limited time--sandwiched between adventures dropping the beat in Berlin discotheques, and her forthcoming foray to the City of Angels. She plays house, techno, and, ya know, bassy dance music. Check her out now before she starts wearing a Dodgers cap.
For this Spilt Milk we got a little sneak and and pulled Miss Avalon away from her tropitechnohouse duo Chocolate Blood for a night. When she hits the decks expect the temperature in Milk Bar to rise. Listen to her Souncloud mixes and start doing your crunches and squats now.
Our good homie Steady B will once again be bringing you the best in funk, soul, groove, etc. during his 6-9pm happy hour set. Chances are his guest is going to be pretty darn cool, too. So come out early, get warmed up, and get a few drinks on the cheap.
Two of our regulars. Spinning good stuff. You've seen them before and you'll see them again. Never disappointing, always dead sexy.
$5. Free before 10pm. 21+
