Martha Ryan, Founder and Executive Director of the Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP) in San Francisco, will share her leadership story. Martha was a volunteer nurse practitioner providing prenatal care for poor and homeless women at a San Francisco shelter when she founded HPP in 1989. Today HPP has grown from serving 72 pregnant women with a part-time, three person staff to serving 4, 128 families with a staff of 80 (half of whom are former clients). HPP provides a continuum of care for homeless and poor families through comprehensive support services and an on-site childcare center.
