Spartan Stadium is home to the San Jose State football team and the men's and women's soccer teams.
Spartan Stadium currently seats 30,456 for football and soccer. Every seat puts the spectator either close or right on top of the action. Two stadium expansions and renovations in the 1980's increased the seating capacity from 18,000 to over 30,000.
The multi-purpose facility is the site of the school's annual commencement ceremonies. Concerts, professional and collegiate soccer, religious convocations, band competitions and high school football games take place at Spartan Stadium. The 1999 Women's World Cup and the 1999 NCAA Women's College Cup attracted record-setting crowds.
The largest attendance at a San Jose State home football game was a 31,218 sellout crowd on November 17, 1990, against Fresno State. The largest crowd to attend any type of event in the stadium was an estimated gathering of 37,000 ZZ Topp music concert.
