Unhinged Jaw is happy to announce that the short documentary movie "South American Cho-Low" will make its Bay Area premiere at the Cine+Más San Francisco Latino Film Festival on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts. The film will include a Q&A session immediately following the screening with director Phuong-Cac Nguyen and executive producer/editor Alfredo Ritta. This event marks the film's first festival, which runs Sept. 19-27 throughout San Francisco.
"South American Cho-Low," a 16-minute documentary directed by American journalist Phuong-Cac Nguyen, chronicles the intersection point between East Los Angeles lowrider culture and "cholo" style in Brazil. Featured are major personalities and icons from the subculture including renowned L.A.-based photographer Estevan Oriol and Brazilian ambassador of lowrider culture and local icon Antonio Carlos Batista "Alemão" Filho.
