"Widely acknowledged as the mother of all soul jams" by Eva Madoff, of Time Out New York, North America’s most popular soul party returns to San Francisco on Friday, May 6 at The Crescent Hotel. Open to the public, New York Night Train's Soul Clap and Dance-Off is an all night dance party set against the exciting and exquisite 45rpm vinyl records of New York DJ legend Jonathan Toubin. The night includes a dance contest judged by a panel of local celebrity judges with a cash prize of $100 for the evening’s best dancer.
Internationally acclaimed DJ, Jonathan Toubin, of New York Night Train productions, and the Soul Clap and Dance-Off party have united the international rock underground and club scene to the beat of the finest raw action-packed records, while simultaneously breathing new life back into superior, yet under-appreciated recordings. Doors open at 9 p.m. for the public. The dance contest begins at 11:30 p.m. and goes until 2 a.m.
